Naval Integrated Massage Edition and Transmission System
The Shipborne Integrated System for Editing and Transmission of Messages compliant with ACP 127 and STANAG 5066 by KenBIT Sp. z o. o. has been designed for the needs of the Polish Navy vessels. MHS PIGEON is a basic element of shipborne data transmission in radio communication channels. It ensures proper message circulation on the vessel – message editing by multiple users, editing and transmission of information within NATO interoperability cooperation – compliant with the requirements of ACP 127 and STANAG 5066. Additionally, it provides a chat function and email handling in accordance with STANAG 5066 requirements.
MHS PIGEON constitutes an interface to external systems enabling transmission and reception of messages compliant with ACP 127. The system provides multi-access to transmission devices for users with various clearance levels and enables the setting up of acoustic and control signal connections between different types of communication devices.
The system is implemented in a client-server architecture. The server role is performed by the MHS Interface device with an internal SQL database, equipped with serial asynchronous and synchronous data transmission interfaces. It enables the connection of modems, cryptographic devices or radio stations. The server client role is performed by applications installed on users' PC terminals.
MHS PIGEON also ensures the storage of received, sent and user-introduced modifications to messages, as well as the ability to search for messages according to specified criteria. There is also the possibility of creating backups of the entire system.

The main, central hardware element dedicated to the operation of the system is the MHS Interface. It performs the role of the system server.
The system's functions are provided by specialist applications run on PC terminals of ship's functional personnel:
MHS Messenger,
MHS Configurator,
MHS Chat,
E-mail (integration of any email client).
The device is the central element of the MHS PIGEON system. Manufactured according to TEMPEST requirements. It features 16 asynchronous ports and 4 synchronous data transmission ports with the possibility of connecting modems, cryptographic devices or radio stations.
LED diodes on the front panel illustrate transmission statuses on the server ports. The equipment is adapted for mounting in standard RACK-type cabinets.
Software for editing and transmitting messages compliant with ACP 127, functioning within the message circulation system between multiple users. Automatic parsing of incoming messages, automated generation of message headers and search according to specified criteria are available. Messages and modification history are stored in the MHS Interface database.
Software for configuring the MHS Interface. It enables configuration of the device's ports for operation in asynchronous or synchronous mode, selection of asynchronous transmission parameters and configuration of all available settings for STANAG 5066. It provides archiving of ACP 127 messages for a selected period and defining accounts for system users.
A communicator compliant with STANAG 5066 requirements. It is a client of the MHS Interface enabling the editing and transmission of short text messages. An editable address book and the ability to search chat history are available. Messages are stored in the MHS Interface database.
The possibility of installing any email client and any server connecting to the STANAG 5066 software of the MHS Interface via the SMTP protocol. It enables the handling of long messages using the CFTP protocol.
